What is Ducks on the Mag Mile?

Ducks on the Mag Mile is a citywide public art display that showcases 25, 3-4 foot wide & tall duck sculptures, along North Michigan Avenue and in nearby communities during the summer of 2020.

What Dates are the Ducks on Display?

The ducks are on display from June 15 through August 9.

Who Designed the Sculptures?

The sculptures are created by talented national and local artists, many with disabilities.

Who is Behind Ducks on the Mag Mile?

This campaign has been put together by the effort of Special Olympics Illinois in partnership with Make Corporation and many other visionary businesses and individuals, including The Magnificent Mile® Association.

What is the Purpose of Ducks on the Mag Mile?

The purpose is two-fold. The first is to celebrate Inclusion of all people, especially those with disabilities. Secondly, to promote the Special Olympics Illinois fundraiser, Chi Ducky Derby that takes place on August 6.

What is The Magnificent Mile?

The Magnificent Mile encompasses the 13-block stretch of North Michigan Avenue that runs from the banks of the Chicago River to the south, to Oak Street to the north. The Magnificent Mile district extends a full square mile from North Michigan Avenue, including east to the scenic lakefront.

What Will Happen To The Ducks After The Event Ends on August 9th?

Proceeds from all sales support the over 23,000 Special Olympics Illinois athletes throughout the state. Over 80% of all dollars raised for Special Olympics Illinois go back in to programming.
