Presenting Sponsor

Welcome to another exciting Public Arts Display on the Mag Mile, Ducks on the Mag Mile!

MAKE Corporation is extremely excited to sponsor the Ducks on the Mag Mile for Special Olympics Illinois this year!!

At MAKE, we have made community engagement a part of our culture for many years and we are honored and blessed to have met many wonderful organizations and individuals along the way.  When we first became involved with Special Olympics Illinois, what stood out to us the most was the athletes and the way their lives are transformed through sports and healthy lifestyles.   There are many, many constituents in the Special Olympics Illinois ecosystem including athletes, families, coaches, countless volunteers, and sponsors.  However, it is the athletes who repeatedly inspire us through their hard work and dedication.   They have taught us physical fitness, discipline, courage, the importance of community, and most of all they have taught us joy!! I am very excited to continue serving the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois in the role of Board Chair for 2020 and 2021.  I hope that you have the opportunity to visit the Ducks on the Mag Mile in Chicago this summer where they will serve as a reminder of the important work of Special Olympics Illinois.  Make sure to purchase some ducks for the annual Duck Derby so you and your organization can also be part of the fun and support of the athletes!!

Make sure to join in and see a world class exhibit, Ducks on the Mag Mile, public art display celebrating the power of what people, business, and community can achieve when we promote a unified world for Special Olympics athletes.

Highlighting this event will be 25 unique duck sculptures designed by various professional Chicago artists, some of which who have disabilities.

These sculptures will be placed along the Magnificent Mile, in the Streeterville, River North and Gold Coast neighborhoods from June 26 through September 27.

The event coincides with the world renowned Chicago Ducky Derby, a signature fundraising event for Special Olympics Illinois and a truly unique Chicago event.

Ducks are available for adoption for $5 at www.chicagoduckyderby.com. The grand prize winner will take home a brand new 2020 Chevy Equinox courtesy of the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Chevy Dealers. Other prizes include $2,500 cash prize, a VIP experience at the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival, and Chicago Blackhawks tickets.

The duck sculptures will be on display the eight weeks preceding the Chicago Ducky Derby on September 27.
